Research Principal: K.L. Berry

K.L. Berry is BrandED’s quantitative research and naming expert. He leads the design, programming, data capture, recommendations and reporting of qualitative and quantitative research work. He has conducted over 300 qualitative and quantitative marketing research studies including design, management, and analysis, and naming activities in education, health care and other businesses. K.L. has directed research projects with clients including the Colorado State University System, University of Denver, Jones University, University of Phoenix and Archdiocese of Northern Colorado Catholic Schools. K.L. is a social psychologist who has authored 13 professional journal publications and a book.

Communications Specialist: Tamara Chapman

Tamara Chapman is an expert writer and BrandED’s communications specialist. Her ability to crystallize educational marketing language is exemplary. Tamara has worked with a number of organizations including the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, Archdiocese of Northern Colorado Catholic Schools, University of Denver and others. Tamara successfully creates educational marketing language that is authentic, compelling and concise. Her expertise has played a significant role for numerous successful educational branding and marketing projects that have proved differentiated and sustainable. Tamara earned her MA in European History from the University of Texas-Austin and her BA in Journalism from the University of Texas-El Paso.

Creative Consultant: Karen Harolds

Karen Harolds is a lead designer for BrandED. She has extensive experience in integrated marketing communications including graphic design and web development in a variety of industries, including many nonprofits. Karen spent ten years as Art Director for the American Humane Association, and also served as the Director of Creative Services for the University of Denver, interfacing with senior leadership, faculty, and staff for graphic identity, logo, web and print media projects. She currently provides comprehensive marketing services for the Colorado Springs Philharmonic including advertising, PR, web site development and magazine production.

Creative Consultant: Martin Mendelsberg

Martin Mendelsberg is a lead creative consultant for BrandED. Martin is an innovative and meticulous designer. Martin has a strong work ethic, is professional and punctual. He is creative but understands client needs and adheres to adopted strategies. Martin has developed visual identities and designed many marketing materials that bring educational visions to life, including Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, Archdiocese of Northern Colorado Catholic Schools and Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design. He has exhibited internationally in Australia, Canada, China and New Zealand. His work is in the permanent collection at Yale University. Martin earned his MFA from the University of Denver and his BFA from Minneapolis College of Art & Design.

Brand Advisor: Mike Walters

Mike Walters is one of this nation’s leading authorities on brand positioning and is a principal at the Sterling-Rice Group. Mike brings a wealth of corporate experience to the table. He has worked with some of the leading companies in developing brand positioning strategies that are differentiated and sustainable. He has an impressive client list including Frontier Airlines, Heinz Foods, Pepsi and Unilever. Although much of Mike’s experience is in the corporate world, he has experience, commitment and an understanding of projects for education, government agencies and other non-profit organizations.
